No sign of a death for a Joseph Close in the Uxbridge area, BTW.

Alice's address is likely to be Moor Park Rickmansworth.

You can post a small section of the cert here for people to give their opinions.

Carol

Added- there's an Aston's Road there today.

Here's the address, although your guess sounds right.

Morningglory - women's names occupations were often omitted from marriage certificates even if they were employed.  ;)

I wonder whether an email to Uxbridge library asking for an electoral roll look up of around the marriage date may reveal more about Alice?

A bit of research on the marriage witness Emily Jane JOYCE suggests that she was the wife of a Richard James JOYCE and that they lived in the Uxbridge area.

Birth, Sep qtr 1873

Emily Jane BLOWER

Uxbridge 3a 29

Marriage, Mar qtr 1907

Emily Jane BLOWER
Richard James JOYCE

Uxbridge 3a 39

Death, Mar qtr 1954

Emily Jane JOYCE aged 80

Uxbridge 5f 120

ETA: Emily seems to have been a daughter of Joseph and Isabella BLOWER of Harefield, so presumably related to William George BLOWER in some way (a cousin, perhaps?).
Ayr: Barnes, Wylie
Caithness: MacGregor
Essex: Eldred (Pebmarsh)
Gloucs: Timbrell (Winchcomb)
Hants: Stares (Wickham)
Lincs: Maw, Jackson (Epworth, Belton)
London: Pierce
Suffolk: Markham (Framlingham)
Surrey: Gosling (Richmond)
Wilts: Matthews, Tarrant (Calne, Preshute)
Worcs: Milward (Redditch)
Yorks: Beaumont, Crook, Moore, Styring (Huddersfield); Middleton (Church Fenton); Exley, Gelder (High Hoyland); Barnes, Birchinall (Sheffield); Kenyon, Wood (Cumberworth/Denby Dale)

Carol: I have the marriage certificate of William Rogers (Herald Chaser) to Eliza Holmes, is the information of interest to you?

I have no idea why this should be amongst our family certificates.
