Just noticed your interest in LILLYCRAP. I have a minor connection to that name; would you like details here or on another thread?

If you click on my name (LH side) you can PM me with the details. I have a fairly extensive study of LILLICRAPs and variants so would be interested to learn what you have.

After a very long fallow period, I have found another possibility:-

Richard GARLAND bap 23 May 1769 in Marystow to David & Anne

Marystow(e) is some 17 miles from Stoke Damerel.

I can find no death for this Richard, and no other likely marriage until that with Elizabeth DAW in 1792

I think my main concern is that, although Richard & Elizabeth had at least 7 children, they did not use the name David or Anne.

If anyone can help me confirm or eliminate this Richard, I should be most grateful

Here's a very long shot which may just be the solution. Baptised at Illogan, Cornwall 28 July 1770, Richard GARLAND son of Peter & Elizabeth. Then I checked the marriage for Peter & Elizabeth: Peter GARLAND married Elizabeth BURRELL 13 August 1769 at Illogan.
As previously noted, Richard & Elizabeth baptised one of their children: Francis Burrell GARLAND (bapt 27 Dec 1802, born 10 Oct 1802.

It may seem like a long-shot to you, but it looks like a bull's eye to me, especially with that occurrence of the BURRELL surname.
I've had so many false dawns with this one, please excuse me if I think about it for a while.
I've never been completely comfortable with Francis since I first found him, as both his forenames jarred somewhat.
For now, thanks for a great discovery.

You can check the names of all children baptised to Peter & Elizabeth at https://www.cornwall-opc-database.org/search-database/ Enter the name Peter GARLAND in the search boxes for 'person search' and then click on baptisms. You'll also find Peter's probable burial in 1826 and Elizabeth's in 1805.

I also follow this Garland family. Richard had a sister Elizabeth who married Samuel Daniel.
