« on: Saturday 19 March 11 13:39 GMT (UK) »
Would be very interested to hear from anyone who has information on James Hunter &/or Christian Hoy, who were possibly born in the Borders Area approx 1700.
They married in Selkirk on 6 Dec  1728 and had 3 children: James 1729, Jean 1732 & Christian 1738.
Thanks,  Bill.

The marraige for James & Christian has Jame's father as James Hunter.

Two possibilities for James.

1697 in Eckford, Roxburgh. Father James
1699 in Melrose Roxburgh. Father James, Mother Jennet Usher

If you go to Scotland's People you will find in the 1700s quite a few mentions of Chrisitan Hoys in the Portmoak and Cleish parishes. They maybe relatives of Hoys who moved from north Fife in the late 1600s.
