1841 census
« on: Sunday 20 March 11 22:30 GMT (UK) »
Hi everyone
Does anyone know if there is any site you can look up a Census entry by PLACE, rather then by a person's name? All the ones I've looked at online go by name.

I'm trying to find out who lived at Flagg Hall (sometimes called 'The House') in 1841 (and before that). Flagg is (was) a small place!

I can only find general information on Google.

Can anyone suggest what sort of records I could look at? Am I right in thinking they might hold some things at Derbyshire Record Office at Matlock?

Many thanks for any pointers

FindMyPast allows you to search by address.

However, all the entries for Flagg in 1841 simply say that! No house names, no street names!  :(

The addresses are just given as "Flagg" in 1841 -as they are in 1851 - so it is difficult to know which is Flagg hall
