Hi, Has anyone got or know where I can get information or photographs of Beacons Photographers in Northunberland Street Newcastle, I am interested in finding out about the photographs that were inside the shop one being of my ggg grandfather Ephraim Harvey

hi,i had a look on Kelly's 1894 Directory for Northumberland,there wasn't a Beacons photographers but there was a James Bacon photographer at 81 Northumberland St Newcastle.It might be the one you are looking for?

 Walked up Northumberland St today ( Amazing that hardly any shops have a visible street number ) The west side of the street holds odd numbers. Marks and Spencer is at 83-89. I guess 81 would have been where now is the entrance to Eldon shopping mall.

 Bacon photographic shop has been the subject of a previous query.  Originally an Edinburgh company ( for more google "81 northumberland street newcastle" )
