What Language is this? Completed
« on: Friday 25 March 11 12:19 GMT (UK) »
I have a will and part of it seems to be in either Latin or Old English can anyone tell me which it is?
Does anyone have the skill to tell me what it says? I have tried but can make no sense of it. Any help wouln be appreciated.

      Thanks Steve

Looks like Latin at first glance.
but it could be a mixture - documents were often written partly in one language and partly in the other, many years ago.

It seems to be Latin probate. They are usually all so similar differing only in the names involved that I posted a standard translation of Latin probates on this site a little while ago for the benefit of transcribers and the wider using community.

Billyblue and Redrodger
Thanks for the information , Redroger can you remember when you posted the translation as I cannot seem to find it. This will is from 1610 if it makes any difference.

              Thanks,  Steve
