Robert & Mary Marquand-St Peter Port
« on: Sunday 27 March 11 14:12 BST (UK) »
Hello
I am trying to find out who are the children of Robert and Mary (Ozanne) who were both born about 1810.  Their son Charles who was born in 1837 immigrated to Australia in about 1852.  Can anyone help please?
Thanks
Robyn

Hi

1841 census has Charles as an only child, aged 7, living in St Peter Port with his confectioner father, Robert, aged 30, and Mary, also aged 30.

Robert was apparently England born and they are living with a James & Rachel Ozanne (possibly Mary's relatives)

I will see if I can find if there are any other children though

1851 has got Robert remarried to an Elizabeth with Charles having a step brother - Henry A Adams.

At least from the census it doesn't look like he had any siblings.

Hi Ruth
Thanks for that.  It's a nice change not to have to a huge family to find.  When you say that Robert was English born do you mean that his parents are not on Guernsey?

I'm not sure - it just had an "E" for England in the where born part of the 1841 census and 1851 just records him as "England" born.

Hello, Robert Marquand is my GGG grandfather and i would love to know whether anyone has any info about him or his parents. I know he was born around 1822 and was a confectioner in St Peter Port. Thanks for any help. Melissa
