Offer : Yalding Grave Look Ups
« on: Sunday 03 April 11 18:15 BST (UK) »
Hi,

Having received such fantastic help from the Canada board, I'd like to offer help back to anyone looking in the Yalding area of Kent.

I'm in the early stages of researching my tree, so not great on technical help, but I'm more than happy to take phographs of the area, graves etc.

Kind Regards

Sue

Hi Sue,

I just noticed your very kind offer for the Yalding area and I wondered if you may have an opportunity sometime to look for my ancestors’ grave markers.

My 5xgt-grandparents lived in Yalding and I’ve found these burials in the parish registers:

Isaac JONES (my 5xgt-grandfather, a farmer), buried 12 Aug 1798

Stephen JONES (Isaac’s son), buried 26 Nov 1782, infant
Ann JONES (Isaac’s daughter), buried 16 May 1787, infant
Robert JONES (Isaac’s son), buried 16 Feb 1812, age 33
William JONES (Isaac’s son), buried 28 Jan 1838, age 62
Nicholas JONES (Isaac’s son), buried 30 Jan 1859, age 81

Isaac's daughter (my 4xgt-grandmother):
Ann BUNYARD (formerly BUCKLAND, née JONES), age 81.
Ann died in Maidstone but was buried 13 July 1871 in Yalding.
This makes me think there may have been a family burial plot in Yalding.

When Isaac died in 1798 his wife Mary was expecting their 11th child. I haven’t found Mary’s burial and I think she may have remarried.

If you are able to have a look for grave markers for me I’d be very appreciative!!  :)

Hi BJ,

I'm sure I can fit in a stroll down there one evening after work this week.  It's quite small, so shouldn't be an arduous task to look for them.  As soon as I've got something, Ill msg you again.

Kind regards

Sue
