 - P. W. Eva b. circa 1883 does appear to head to South Africa in 1928.
(There is also a Percy Eva who heads to Argentina in 1921, possibly the same man).

Details from the 1928 record might help you work out what he was up to - occupation, destination etc.

WOW!
Thank you Sue21757, garsonite, Plummiegirl, Daisypetal, Jarose and JeannieR!
Clearly I have been idle concerning research and monitoring Rootschat and the information that has come to light is fantastic.
Firstly let me critique some detail to perhaps answer some queries.

Percy was born William Percival EVA 21.8.1887 Ballarat Victoria Australia named after his father (mother Matilda Ann HARVEY) and therefore answered to Percy to allay any confusion. The family left for South Africa 21.9.1898. Percy in Aust. 26.3.2906 and Southampton 11.8.1910. Percy is married in the 1st quarter of 1916 [I haven't the certificate yet] but he has enlisted and the records I have, discharged 27.6.1916. I can't decipher the Army abbreviations (para 392[XVI]K.R) but I believe kings Regs discharged due ill health???
I have checked census = nothing. He is in Jo'burg 1935 to sign Fathers' Death Notice.
So now a new direction thanks to you all, fantastic! Thanks again.

Cheers

Hi,
Thanks for the input. I have looked at Cornish records for Eva and found, I believe a dead end. Grace Eva, my GGGgrandmother I think was an only child. Her parents were Robert and Mary White (nee Smith) and I think Robert died soon after Grace was born in 1815. 1851 Census shows Grace, husband William plus children and mother Mary at 7 Lanner St., parish of Sithney, Helston. They emigrated shortly after this to Australia with William dying in 1853 leaving Grace to look after the family.
Cheers

Leigh

Hi,

Don't know if you have these but it's the Estate Files for William's father and mother.  There is a Death Notice and will, just click through the images.
