This is from a google cache page (I've shrunk the link) www.rootschat.com/links/0cn6/ - the family of Charles Scott and Margaret Douglas.

Bryan, I will leave you to explore the info (although, I think, due to it being on cache, links on the page don't connect  :-\)

Not complete in terms of all the children of Charles and Margaret. From IGI, a few further details:

Marriage/banns for Charles and Margaret show on 4 April 1813 Wilton, Roxburgh.

Children, all births in Lilliesleaf, Rox:

1. John SCOTT 25 Jan. 1814
2. Jessy SCOTT 24 March 1815
3. Isobel SCOTT 8 Sept. 1816
4. Archibald SCOTT 17 June 1818
5. George SCOTT 5 Nov. 1819
6. Charles SCOTT 12 March 1821
7. Andrew SCOTT 2 Jan. 1823
8. Jessey SCOTT 12 July 1824

Well, this is now going to stop niggling me! Think I found Uncle Andrew....

From 1841 census:

Andrew Redford 60, farmer
Isabella Redford 55
John Redford 30
James Redford 25
Andrew Redford 20
George Redford 20
Charles Redford 15
Jessie Redford 15
Margaret Redford 65
Elizabeth Redford 60
Janet Reid 25, servant
Charlotte Bell 15, servant

Address: Hermiston, Lilliesleaf

Usual issues of the 1841 census. Ages rounded down to the nearest 5 years for everyone over 15 and no relationships given within the household.

From IGI from children's births, Isabella/Isobel, wife of Andrew is showing as SCOTT - thank goodness for that!

Not surprising that Uncle Andrew hummed and hawed about leaving Scotland for Cananda. The 1851 census shows his as a farmer of 450 acres, not insubstantial. Both Andrew and Isabella show in 1851 as born in Lilliesleaf.
