Got a very lengthy reply from Italiangen.org
In a nutshell these records are NOT just Italian ones, they are of any nationality and anyone from the various sources they have used for transcribing, which is rather confusing if one is researching Italian genealogy and the individual records do not state which ones are Italian either

Well, the records are really American ones, and there are plenty of other ways to find out who is and isn't Italian.  I wish all cities in the US had websites with as much coverage as the volunteers on www.italiangen.org have provided. 

This site lists where naturalizations records for New York can be found online:  http://www.germanroots.com/newyork.html  As far as I can tell, only indexes are available online for the Eastern District.  The actual papers appear to be held in the National Archives in New York - http://www.archives.gov/northeast/nyc/finding-aids/naturalization-holdings.html

Yes the Italian site is very good.
Will have a look for the Nat Doc's on the sites you mention...

Forgive my ignorance of American geography, but in the posting of 1930 cen Miami his father is born N ? Caroline and M born S Carolina, is this within the same area of Virginia as the details for the pos birth match 1900 cen of John ??

Hi, 
North Carolina and South Carolina are states.  They are directly under Virginia.
