Penbryn
« on: Saturday 09 April 11 19:27 BST (UK) »
I believe that my 3 x Great Grandfather William Powell was born abt 1821, he married Ann Jones of Penbryn in 1841.

William and Ann lived in Penbryn, tho William did appear in 1881 and 1891 census living in the Rhondda - working in the coal mines .... Some of their children were christened at Penmorfa Calvinistic Methodist (and where is it) - does this church/chapel still exist and are their any burial records available ??

Hi
The GENUKI website is great for finding churches, chapels etc.

Twr-Gwyn Calvinistic Methodist Chapel is in Rhydlewis.  Built 1750, various renovations over the years and apparently still open in 1998. There is reference to a photograph on the Dyfed family history society website.

I have taken a look to see if I can find the photograph on Dyfed FHS site with no success (and I am a member) - I will email them and see if they can tell me how I find it - Thanks
