Thomas GOODE born 1752 to Thomas GOODE and his wife Sara, of Westwood Park, Thornbury, Herefordshire & Pigeon House, Great Kyne, Worcestershire.

Elizabeth ABELL daughter of Henry ABELL & Elizabeth of Lower Nicholson, Hatfield, Herefordshire.

Ann TOLLEY’s mother Ann ASH_ _ _ _ _ _ was the daughter of Thomas ASH_ _ _ _ _ _ Of Lower Buckland, Hereforshire and his wife, Thomasen.

Thomas GOODE married Elizabeth ABELL in 1791

I finly worked out the connection I think and have found the link to Thomas !

Thomas Goode married Sarah Adams 26 November 1741 Kimbolton Hereforshire...
(Thomas parents are a Matthew Goode and Martha)
 looks like Thomas and Sarah  have 8 children including

Thomas Goode bapt 3 April 1752...   Died 12 January 1832

Thomas married Elizabeth Abell 29 September 1791 Edwin Ralph

Looks like they have 8 Children incl

Samuel Goode (I have birth 24 August 1794)....
and

Matthew Goode born or baptised  9 October 1797  (this is my link)

Parents = Thomas GOODE and Elizabeth ABELL

Ann TOLLEY born 1785(?)  Herefordshire died 10 Jul 1871 Adelaide
Her parents = Francis TOLLEY of Edwyn Ralph, Herefordshire & Ann ASH_ _ _ _ _ _

Samuel GOODE married Ann TOLLEY 18 Aug 18?? In Edwyn Ralph Parish Church, Herefordshire.

Like I said, Cheran......everything needed checking out. However, what newspaper article do you mean re Anne Goode's death? And index? If South Australian index and article, they show Anne died 15th July 1874 in Adelaide.

but I was just wondereding where the 10 July 1871 came from in one of the earlier posts but as you explaine I will check out as I go...

I am happy with 1874 date after for Anne's death.

The 1871 date was one gleaned from the old lead pencil hand written papers that I sent you copies of......so checking has picked up at least one mistake!

There is still a store bearing the name in Goolwa and the plaque -

I can't find an image online...you may be more successsful   I am happy to take a photo of the store today when I am next there.  I am sure there will be photos in the library of the streetscape in the early years.

I have been researching the relationship of Thomas Goode to George Pateshall Colebatch who went to work at the Goolwa store. I have read your message

I have been wondering where you found that Samuel and Matthew were brothers.

The Goode family come into my research with the "Colebatch" family  as  Matthew married Francis Colebatch and then their daughter Susannah married "John Colebatch"... so the families seem interwoven...

George Pateshall Colebatch worked for Thomas Goode at Goolwa South Australia....

So my direct research is re the Thomas Goode at Goolwa to find any links to the Colebatch family and these seemed to be confirmed but I can't confirm I have it all correct as I done so much work back beyond Thomas Goode and Catherine Powell....  Interesting family though
