Hi Kris and KGarrad,
Many thanks for the response to BONE and BATTEN enquiry.
I hadn't looked at Cornwall OPC recently or carefully enough on this matter, so the link again was very helpful.
The 1841 census has John (Greenwood) BONE aged 60, which just scrapes
in to the 1775 birth year (with the up to five year age variation in that census). So John and Sarah as parents seems to fit, and their first dau's unusual name Mellen was passed on by the family.
The only John BONE and Sarah (BEARE) marriage I can find is at Fowey in 1781 - possible I suppose, just before the last of five children is born ..?
So much available online now, a bit still to go. The Grace BATTEN in Saltash seems very likely - is this a parish record from a particular church ?
You mention 'MI lists ...' for Egloskerry burials - what is MI ?
The GREENWOOD/BONE connection is hard to find, though I see there is a Mr Edward GREENWOOD in Liskeard in 1720's and a John BONE. The Greenwood name was passed down through at least four earlier generations and a farm named 'Greenwood', so must have been significant.
Appreciate the time and effort you contribute on our behalf ... a point of last resort almost.
Cheers ... Jim
