Grace Sophia Bennett in St Helier

A distant grand aunt Grace Sophia Bennett settled in St Helier, Jersey sometime between 1835 (baptism of a daughter in England) and her entry in Robson's 1839 Directory for her 'Seminary' in Grove Place.   
I believe she went to Jersey after her husband John Bennett died, which must then have been sometime between late 1834 and 1838/39.  At present I have no reason to believe John went to Jersey; she is 'Widow' in 1851 and when she died she was described as widow of John Bennett of Wandsworth, England.

Are there any other Records that might show when she settled in Jersey?  Such as an earlier local Directory or an advertisement for the Seminary in a Newspaper? 
Did people have to Register anywhere when they settled in Jersey?
