Annie Capel Jones

Does anyone have any knowledge of this lady?  All I know is that she appears on the 1901 census in Bristol as the housekeeper (aged 32) to her brother.  I also know that she died in 1903 and is buried in the churchyard of St Faith's church, Dorstone.  I would like to know if anyone has any record of her birth and who her parents were.

Was she single/married/widowed in 1901?

If single - birthyear would be approx 1868/69 so have you checked the 1881 census for her which is free to search at

She was single in 1901 and in 1903 when she died.  I cannot find a reference to her before 1901 although there are references to the rest of the family.  I would like to connect her to the family in order to confirm that I have the correct set of Jones, as you can imagine this is not always the easiest thing to do.

I have followed the 1851 family through to 1871 but no  Annie.  They had a 4yr old daughter Sarah and a 9mth old daughter Jessie which lets them out of being Annie's parents

Difficult isn't it?  Everything points to her being part of the family except that I can't find an actual link.

William Meredith Jones married in 1870 so I am satisfied that the 1851 entry is the right one

There is a 21yr age difference between himself and Annie but not impossible that they were siblings - except for her absence from any census records etc

Dorstone was in the Hay registration district and this is the only birth around Annie's birthyear

There is no death for her between 1869-1871 and there is no 1871 entry in Hay
