Birth of Jane Russell Spruce, Apr 24, 1855

Looking for the birth of Jane, as I would like to know for sure where she  came from and who her  parents were.  I know that some "Spruces" came from Offaly.  The information that I have is that Jane was born in Ireland, although she was Scotch, and emigrated to Canada in 1862 (she would have been 7 years old so must have been with her parents.  Can you help me?

Hello Peggy,

I looked at the extracts of Griffith's Valuation of Ireland (1848-64) and then as I could not find the surname there checked on the Irish Ancestors Surname Search site which is based on the Valuation. Sometimes when surnames do not appear on the Valuation they appear on the Surname Search. There was no sign of Spruce there either. Is there a possibility of a different spelling of the name?
