Look Up parents and siblings of William Bonear Male

Found Francis   9 May 1819 - but mother is Mary - father still William , farmer of Pengelly and baptism at St Teath

(Still can't find a death for Elizabeth so Mary can move in though!    )     I think Francis parents might be a different family  

- or there are far too many Williams farming in Pengelly

- 'cos Margaret was born to William and Elizabeth in 1821  - still farming in Pengelly.  Big enough gap to be another family though don't you think?

Can't find a Nicholas at all.  I wonder if Nicholas and Francis were cousins rather than siblings.  (Roger was a quarryman too)  We are still talking Males aren't we??

All William Bonear Male's children are listed under William Bonear - those others are not!

found it...Nicholas Male baptism... 29 December 1816... parents William Bonear Male & Elizabeth St Teath
Residence:  Pengelly Occ: Farmer  Record No= 955283

Given that we know Elizabeth was a Elizabeth Mary, perhaps the one for Francis in 1819 is correct as well!


Found more baptisms for Christopher and Jane ....St Teath thank goodness

John Male 18 March 1774,

Moses 29 June 1777....... I had found his marriage I think to Mary Ann Trevan 10 July 1803, I think its him buried 21 Dec 1806....  Mary Ann buried 8 April 1812...  their son John christened 10 March 1804 buried I think 18 March 1812...
William Bonear Male is a witness to this marriage.

Nicholas Male 30 October 1785....

still searching for a Jane I think!

Do we know she was Elizabeth Mary?    Good that's something else to add.

Are you telling me that Christopher had all the same names for his children as William did             - how very inconsiderate of them!!

when I did the search in Cornwall OPC I used the % wildcard after father's name CH so Ch% and mothers I just used J% and in the year just seached 17 (didn't use the parish)

Same theory when I looked for Nicholas Male baptism with William Bonear Male father.

Still missing an Ann's   Baptism and Death (death meant to be around 1812) parens Chris and Jane.

I think the whole family seems to have been hell bent on making it hard for us names just repeat everywhere.

Certainly looks like it!  Finally found them using your method!!   Wonder why they only come up that way for some?

Christopher's baptism doesn't come up that way though!

Oh well some progress!!      Sometimes the repetition is a help - but not when the joint is littered with the same names!!

How have you gone with this?

I am struggling with John Male born c1811 and shipped to South Australia 1849. Both Lavinia and Mary his daughters married Pethicks.

I , like yourselves , looked at Cornwall OPC and could only see a Mary born to John and Anne Calecoat. But I had also seen John arrive unmarried and a hint that Marys Mother was Phillipa Allen. Searching FindMyPast I have all these -John marrying Phillipa , Lavinia and Mary born in Lanteglos by Camelford?

My original John was the 1809 born to William and Elizabeth , yet a marriage at age 13 to Anne confused. I then switched the 1801 John , but still wasn't happy. So I stopped. 

Is John still related to William Bonear ? I have seen a reference to a John Male Marrying a Caroline Hewitson in 1869 where he states his age as 54 and father as William Bonear ( Caroline was 22) . I just figured he was a dirty old bugger who adjusted his age as to not seem a , well ,  dirty old bugger. 

Any help much appreciated.
