Treforest Electoral Register 1918
« on: Thursday 21 April 11 22:16 BST (UK) »
Hi,
I'm trying to find out who lived in the house in Treforest where my great grandmother had her last child after running away from her husband 1917. She was actually from Nottinghamshire but went to Wales for a while it seems and I am keen to know who she ran to. The only way I think I could find this out (I think) would be the electoral register for 1918. Does anybody know of a way of accessing this register other than going to the Pontypridd library? I live in Chesterfield, so it's not that easy! Is there an online facility that anybody knows about?

I would be grateful for any advice.

Kind regards.

Hi and welcome to Rootschat

Electoral registers are not alphabetically indexed - you have to have an address to search them - very time consuming and you may not find her

I am not aware of any online facilities for that period

Hi,
Thanks for replying. I do have the address, it's 22 New Park Terrace, Treforest.

I'll probably just have to go on holiday to Wales then and stop off at the library!!

Thanks

Hi,
Thanks, that's a great idea. I'll give them a ring i the week. It never occurred to me that they might be willing to help me at the library. Thanks very much indeed for your kind offer to visit the library for me. How very kind of you. I'll see how I get on with a phone call, but you never know I may get in touch with you!!!

Kindest regards, Paula
