Hi Dimps, Wiggonholt is still tiny - I don't suppose there are more than that today, it tends to get lumped in with Parham and Rackham.
It does have a church, known locally as The Shepherds Church as it has no patron Saint; one room, with a bell turret. It's main claim to fame is a Sussex marble font.
I hav'nt visited it for years so I don't know about gravestones or memorials but if memory serves me correctly a survey was done on them c1900.  I must go and have another look.
The church is still in use and shares a Vicar with Parham, Amberley, Greatham and North Stoke, known collectively as the 'Wildbrooks Churches'.

That's all great - thankyou to everybody that's helped - there's a few new names there that I didn't previously know about!

I do have some info on the BURCH(A/E)LLS ie. baptisms in Billingshurst but it was this middle part of the 19c that I was lacking.

Looking at the birthplaces in 1861 ................. where do we think they will be in 1851?  Is Wiggonholt still likely or are we looking for a "Wickham" now?

Thanks again

Casalguidi

The nearest Wickham I can find is in Hampshire.  I think the "Holt" clinches it.  I'm voting for Wiggonholt!  - Deborah
