there are new listings available for angus , argyll , banffshire , fife , west lothian , lanarkshire , perthshire etc.
check the home page for details of what's available
looks like this site could be very useful(free to search index)
(and no i don't have shares in it  ;D )

it seems that only records for fife , inverness , and perth have been done so

i've had another look at this and it seems the new records are scottish monumental inscriptions
some sort of new search will tell you that there X number hits in X churchyard
for the name you are looking for
then you have buy credits to view those headstones

ok you search for a name in the usual way(say MORGAN)
then when the list of names appears there is a message at the top which says
we have also found 3 collections containing MORGAN
click here to get to the next page
3 churches are shown(so far) telling you how many headstones there are
it then costs 10 credits to look at those headstones
it doesn't seem to matter how many headstones there are it's still 10 credits
20 credits cost £2

putting in dates cuts the number of results so don't think it will be any harder than searching scotlandspeople  ::)
i.e. find out as much as possible from other sources before you spend credits
anyone who has used scotlandspeople will know exactly what i mean

Deceased Online obtains statutory records from local authorities directly which means uniquely they have complete data-sets with all the transcribed register information as well as all the register scans and details of grave occupants.  This isn't competition to family history societies, it's largely different data; it complements the data and records that FHSs painstainkingly research.  We work in close cooperation with many family history societies and we've received overwhelming support from users of the website.
