Just about to post that birth, Carole.

Are you sure this is not just a family rumour Kalasira that has been passed down? I believe that your father's birth certificate would give his mother's previous married name (if she was married) as well as her maiden name.

Having seen your last post Carole, I wonder if it was her father who killed himself? Kalasira, if you obtain this certificate it will give you his cause of death.

I also think it was Campbell Skillington who shot himself

Maud was not previously married to a "Campbell" - he was her father

A copy of Campbell Skillington's death cert will give the cause of death and a copy of the 1918 marriage cert will confirm Maud was a spinster when she married Harry (not William) Skillington

Kalasira

You have been given all this information in a previous post in 2008 so why are you asking for the same information again??

Duplicating requests causes a great deal of wasted time and efforts - which is what has happened here

Here is just one of my replies on that post

Quote
This is your dad's birth registration

Harry C Skillington March quarter 1925 Sheffield Volume 9C Page 1019 his mothers maiden name was NEAVE.  If he was born on Boxing Day - his birth would only have been registered after the New Year which is why it is shown in the March qtr 1925

This is his parents marriage registration

Marriages March qtr 1918

Harry Skillington  to Maud Neave  Lincoln  Volume 7a Page 941

As Maud was only around 21 when she married Skillington - I doubt she was married beforehand.  If she had been - she would have re-married as Campbell - not Neave

This is the only Maud Neave birth in Lincolnshire

Maud Neave September qtr 1897 Horncastle Volume 7a Page: 552
