Hi There

Have you tried looking at the workhouse site on line as that gives stacks of info on all the old workhouses & may give you some info on Kidderminster workhouse which was demolished years ago & a new hospital was built on the site

All the very best

Phil

Hi Phil yes I have seen the workhouse site but it does not help. I have been told that workhouses had to apply to local magistates to send young persons abroad. does any know if this is true and if so where the magistrates records are for kidderminster thanks for your help so far essiefred

I suspect that means that the records have been destroyed  :(

...but this website has some interesting info on the workhouse and info about other streets and people in Kidderminster in 19th century, also a list of where the researchers found Kidderminster info - http://www.kidcivicsoc.org.uk/reports2.html

I have to thank you because in looking to help with your query, I stumbled on a photo of my 3xgt grandparents baker's shop  ;D
