Sutherland married 1826 Milne or Mill?

William Sutherland married Margaret Milne December 1826. On the headstone in Reay Old Cemetery her surname is Mill.Does anyone know which is correct?

could be either! I,ve found the same thing with the name Mill/Milne in Orkney
Dumfriesshire: Bell, Kerr, Dickson, Hetherington
Orkney: Cursiter, Peace, Drever, Cooper, Paterson, Brock, Leslie, Malcomson, Miller, Scott
Cumberland: Charlton, Young

as akc notes , this seems to happen often
i have perth family Mill or Mills
then angus family(various) who can be listed Mill , Miln , or Milne
