1841 census query
« on: Thursday 12 May 11 22:48 BST (UK) »
When I looked for James and Margaret DRYSDALE on Freecen 1841 census for Perth (Culross) I found them and 6 of their children but the address was Prison.  How can I find out what prison and why they were all there?

If he is the one with occupation "sailor" - there may be a transcription error on Freecen

The transcription on another website shows nothing that would suggest they were in Prison

The original image would need to be viewed to check but is only available on Scotlands People which is a pay per view site

Thanks Carole, I will take a look when I am next on Scotlands People, it did seem strange at the time.
