Smart Family of Owston Leices.

Looking for christening of Catherine Smart 1847 or thereabouts, parents
names : Edward Smart and Mary Ann Burton.
Also christening of Edward Smart b. 1809 Owston and Mary Ann Burton
b. 1811 Owston.
Any help to move me along to the next generation would be gratefully
received.

census has them moving around a lot in southern counties - do you have?

there is a tree on A* - is it yours? other children + all census.

Hi diddymiller,
Thankyou so much for the info on Catharine ....... I have really struggled
with this one.
It is my tree on A* and since posting this query I have had another look
at the census material. Edward is consistently recorded as born Owston
Leics until the 1901 census which states 'Southharp' Lincolnshire. I wonder
if this was very close to Owston, Leics? ...... perhaps on the borders
of the two counties??
I think that the 'W' mentioned in their marriage details might be Whatborough
as Whatborough Lodge, Hungerton was their residence on the 1841 census
after their marriage.
I am not very familiar with Leics and Lincolnshire counties.

the 1871 census actually has Edward Smart born Northants: South therp - can't find such a place at all on genuki...

So confusing!!
I have found a place called Southorpe in Lincs ..... I think
this was a hamlet with Northorpe....... but still cannot find
anything on the IGI! ...... all out of ideas!
