Alexander Rennie (my 2nd great grand uncle) b 1842 in Resolis d june 1869 at Culliecudden. On his death cert it has  he died with a supposed wound to the head, accidentally falling over the ** of the quarry at Cullicudden where he was found in the morning by the quarriers. Any ides where he would be buried?

Also on the cert. it has see reg of ? ? p7 26th june 1869. I'm presuming this would be a newspaper entry?

Any help appreciated

What is says is "see register of corrected entries". This register gives court findings about paternity, cause of death etc. If you are looking at the digital image of the page which includes the death certificate, scroll down to the bottom of the page and you will see a link to the page in the register of corrected entries. Click on this and you will be shown the page. You can sometimes find important details here.

As to where someone is buried, they may be buried in the kirkyard of the parish where they live or in the one where their family came from.

Graham.

P. S. Certainly in the north east of Scotland Rennie tends to be a mid to late 19th century spelling of the name. Earlier it is far commoner to see the name given as Rannie or even Rainy.

Hi GR2,

Thanks for that, have done it, if I read things properly in the first place? Never mind you learn something new every day :)
