Will snippet
« on: Monday 16 May 11 16:15 BST (UK) »
Hello,
I've been trying to understand this part of my 6th great grandmothers will for a while, but I can't read it  :-\
I'd like to know what she is saying about William Gandy as I'm getting the impression she doesn't like him?
Thanks  :) :)

It seems amongst the family wills I've seen to be fairly standard wording when leaving money to a woman. Back in the good old days, all a woman's wordly goods were automatically owned by her husband unless it was otherwise stipulated and your granny is simply making this stipulation -- that the money that she leaves to her daughter belongs to her daughter and cannot be used by her son-in-law for his own ends.
