Hi Deoxy

Link is not working. If this is just a copy of the URL for the image you have viewed on SP, it won't work for other people to view it.

You need to save the image on to your computer (sure you have, but just a mention). Once saved, perhaps you can attach just a small portion of it here on RC with the section where you are having a problem deciphering.

Possibly Marnoch?  Just guessing, with no idea what the image looks like!

I think as Archivos suggested, it looks like Marnoch (with the last two letters less clear).

She shows as born in Marnoch on the 1851 transcription in Lochee, Angus.

Have you managed to find her death entry to confirm her parents' names. This can often help with finding births or possible siblings also.

In this period, Marnoch fell under the county of Banff, see www.scotlandsfamily.com/parish-map-aberdeen.htm for parishes within counties of Banff and Aberdeenshire.

Thanks very much. That's very helpful.  Would her death record on Scotland's People have her parents names included?  She died in Lochee, Dudee in 1877.  :)
