george charles wayne???

My g.grandfather has the name of George Charles Wayne born app.1860 -supposedly in Poole, Dorset. He married my g.grandmother in Thursday island Qld. Aust. in 1884 giving his age as 25 and parents as George Alexander Wayne-Merchant of Poole, and mother Stella Marjorie Broughton.  He was a mariner, giving his occupation on the various electoral rolls in Oz. as 'master mariner'. They lived in Qld. NSW and Vic- last elec. roll entry in 1916 and last Crew record in 1916.  I recently found him buried in Coburg cemetery in Melbourne, dying in 1917 of TB.  At some time between 1903 and 1916 he left my g.grandmother, with 2 boys.

 On his vic. death cert. there is no info about his marriage, parents or children, and he has no headstone or burial or death notice.  I have been unable to find his b irth, or any record of his parents.  What do I do next?

The following Silver Wedding Anniversary Notice appeared in the Sydney Morning Herald on Friday 24 December 1909, on page 4.

Note the address of their residence in New South Wales.

George Charles and Florence Ethel's son Herbert Sinclair Wayne died in District of Ryde, (NSW) in 1968, Reg#33482.

In regard to George's Victorian Death Certificate, the information on the certificate is only as good as the knowledge of the informant.

June if I'm correct we are related.My grandfather is Claude Wayne.His great great grandfather was George Alexander Wayne who had a son George Charles Wayne.My cousin (*) is doing research on the WAYNE/PAINTER family.I find this very interesting and have no idea what I'm doing,so please bare with me.

Hi, Yes, we are related.  I am in touch with (*), and we are waiting for her DNA results to maybe tell us some more.  I was in touch with Claude for quite a while before he died, and I am still in touch with your cousin, (*) (daughter of Ernest and Nell).  I am trying to get to see the application which would have been lodged with NSW govt. in 1893 for George to obtain his 'masters certificate'.
This man is a mystery - the names, Geo. Alexander and Stell M. Broughton appear to be fictitious, as I have not been able to find any record of either, or of Geo. C. 's birth.  When you look at his maritime records on ancestry his ages varies by about 10 years,so,  who is he??
