Completed SAUNDERS baptisms/burials Rushden/Knebworth look-up please

Hi

I wonder if someone could check the following for any further information please? I am trying to establish if this is the same couple baptising children in Rushden and Knebworth.

Rushden baptisms
Mary SAUNDERS 21 Aug 1716 parents John and Mary
ElizabethSAUNDERS  4 Jul 1717 parents John and Mary
John SAUNDERS 12 Jul 1719 parents John and Mary
Esther SAUNDERS 29 Dec 1723 parents John and Mary

Knebworth baptisms
Lettice SANDERS 11 Sep 1721 parents John and Mary
William  SANDERS 24 FEB 1724 parents John and Mary

plus this Rushden baptism
William SAUNDERS 11 DEC 1803  parents William and Elizabeth)

Hi

I now have the will for John Sanders of Knebworth proved 1753, mentioning his wife Mary, sons John and William and deceased daughter Lettice (she married Richard Ilot in 1751). So if I am on the right track about this John being the one who married in Ardeley to Mary Brett of Rushden and had the children listed in post1,  then daughters Elizabeth, Mary and Esther would appear to have died young - is anyone able to check the Rushden/Knebworth registers for burials please?

Hi Jan,

The Hertfordshire Marriage Index records the three marriages as having been held at Rickmansworth.    The date given for Elizabeth WOOLMORE is 03Dec1745 which is at variance with that given by Ray.

As an aside, Visitations of Herts 1634 has a family tree of "Saunders of Beechwood" (subsequently emailed copy to janan)

Hi Jan,

The entries for the Rushden baptisms gave no further details, the only differences were that 1719 did not mention Mary and the 1803 surname was spelt SANDERS.   The Knebworth baptisms as shown.

The only burials I could trace were at Knebworth - John SANDERS 19May1720 and Susan SANDERS 19Mar1724.  I also found  two marriages at Knebworth which may be of interest - John SAUNDERS and Martha WADE 01Apr1730 and Thomas YOUNG and Mary SANDERS 11Feb1734.
