I have traced my Cherry ancestors from Therfield (1720-1852) back to a Charles Cherry ( b abt 1640) who married an Ann and had four children at Royston in the 1660s. As the register only commence in Royston in 1660, that seems to be that. But, I suspect he may have come from Sandon, where a Thomas & Grace Cherry had a son James in 1637 (he married at Therfield and left a will in 1685). Thomas was probably born at Kelshall in 1606 to William & Catherine (IGI). But, there is a bit of conjecture in this. Any suggestions on how to firm up the links would be appreciated.
