Walter Wilkinson ALVEY:
Walter was baptized 20 July 1806 at Gedling , he was a Framework Knitter. Walter was the son of John Wilkinson Alvey and his Wife Hannah.
In 8 August 1841 at Gedling, Nottingham we have Walter being Married to an Ann NEWMAN (widow) (neeBARROWCLIFF) Of Gedling. Ann was born 1796 in Blidworth and died on 28 Feb 1866 and is buried in the Episcopal Cemetery in Ruddington.
In the 1841 census for Ruddington the following is found.

Walter listed in 1881 Census on Distillery St age 74 with a
Birthplace of Carlton, occupation of grocer.
Walter died 20 September 1891 86 years and is also buried in
Ruddington.
Hannah ALVEY: was born abt 28 October 1836 in Carlton, she was married in the
Parish Church of Saint Mary in Nottingham on March 27, 1859.
She was married to a John BLOOD (17 Jan 1837) John’s father
was a FWK living at Carter Gate. Hanna’s father was a Walter
Alvey living at Goose Gate in Nottingham. Witnesses were a
Richard and Emma CRIPWELL.
Ann ALVEY: Listed in PIGOT’S Commercial Directory as a shopkeeper
living at Goose Gate in Nottingham in 1828-1829.
Possible First marriage of Walter Alvey.

Rebecca NEWMAN :
Rebecca is found in the 1851 Census of Ruddington, age 19 as
Step-Daughter to Walter. She will marry at Ruddington on
30 May 1852 to a William HARDY. She died 2 Nov 1858 at
27 years.
Annie Rebecca HARDY: age 22 born Ruddington listed in the 1881 Census in the
House of Walter Alvey as his Grand-daughter.
George NEWMAN: Father to above Rebecca and husband to Ann NEWMAN.
Joseph BARROWCLIFF: age 49 is found in 1851 Census for Ruddington born
Blidworth. FWK
