William Siddons Young
« on: Sunday 29 May 11 01:09 BST (UK) »
Can someone please help with this:
William Siddons Young was born in Calcutta, West Bengal in 1832. He died at Upton (Upton upon Severn?) in 1901.

What info can I find out about him? Should I contact the History Centre/Record Office? I'd really like to know the contents of his will. And I don't know the actual date of his death.

Thank you for any help,

Jamie

Thanks Carole. Is it possible to find the details of his family on the 1891? I presume he'd have been married in India…but maybe not. How come he is listed as being married with a family in 1891 and recorded as being single in 1901? Is there a way to find his will?

Hi looking at the original for the 1891 census supplied by CaroleW, I believe he is Single and not married, as the enumerator obviously disapproved of the word Unmarried! Over the top of all on page who show Unmarried he has written a large "S" and all those shown as single stay as single, could someone have a view and see if my reasoning is correct?
