Hi,

Yes to all - born Rotherhithe 1886 - mother Naomi - and living in Aldershot in 1901.

If i remember correctly, 'aneurism' is written next to his name. (Medical term)

Thanks Angelfish - I thought I was really onto something with that Dorothy too! :(

Glen.

Does your Gran remember whether her mum had any siblings?  Also, who were the witnesses on the marriage cert?

Comerford is Naomi's maiden name (Walter's mother).

Witnesses were A Hudson and E C Parker. Nobody living knows of these two names.

My Gran doesn't remember any siblings or relations of her mother's ever coming round or beng mentioned! Only that she's sure she was told that she grew up with an Aunt.

1891 census Maidstone.

Class: RG12; Piece: 689; Folio 35; Page 2;

Transcribed as Dorothy Stephens but the image is Shepherd

Living with grandmother, now is this the same as the one found in 1901?

There does appear to be too many things that  fit with this Dorothy.

Glen can you tell us exactly what information you have that makes you discount this Dorothy?
