George F Franklin at Doonass Clare

My Franklin ancestors - Joseph, Robert, Anne (Casey) arrived Australia 1839 born Doonass 1810 - 1815. Parents were George F Franklin and Elizabeth A Johnson.
Other Australian researchers give George and Elizabeths' deaths as 1813 which is a bit of a problem if their offspring were born later.  George and sons are described as farmers at Doonass on immigration records; George is also listed as a Hedge School teacher at Clonlara in the Irish Education Board's 1824 Enquiry, part of his salary being paid by the Parish Cess.
I would like to know whether the accounts for Kiltenlea Parish have survived as these may give more information about George
 or whether any records are available for the Hedge schools.

Are you referring to the Church of Ireland?  Is so, I recall going through some old records which list payment to various folk during the 1800s, so some type of records have survived.

I too have a Johnson connection in that area.
