Lounds - locksmiths in Willenhall
« on: Sunday 05 June 11 15:14 BST (UK) »
I have been trying for sometime to locate information on the following people without much success. I have the parents John Lounds and Mary Ann Walker who were married in 1848 in Lichfield soon after their eldest son was born also John in 1849. John and Mary Ann then took young John to Willenhall where some of Johns brothers were locksmiths its then 7 years before John and Mary Ann have children again so would appreciate any info anyone has on the following children : Elizabeth b 1856, William b 1857, Benjamin b 1867 and Harry b 1870 all in Willenhall or if any other children are known to have been born to these parents I already know enough about James b 1862 and his descendents. Also moving forward any info on the following two persons would be much valued : Henry Lowndes-Taylor b 1873 and George Lowndes-Taylor b 1877 both in Willenhall and both sons of John Lounds b 1849 in Lichfield and Harriet Taylor b 1851 in Lichfield. Thank you in advance this whole family is a nightmare. M x

From the Wolverhampton Archives site:

Elizabeth LOUNDS (20), daughter of John LOUNDS, locksmith, married George HOUGH (28, furnaceman), son of George HOUGH, carpenter, 22 Mar 1875, Heath Town, Staffs.

Henry LOWNDES (24, locksmith), son of John LOWNDES, locksmith, married Elizabeth BRYCE (22), daughter of Isaac BRYCE, collier, 16 Apr 1900, Heath Town, Staffs.

(FamilySearch has the groom's name as Harry, but the Archives site has Henry.)

Another one?  William's age is iffy, but he's the only one with birthplace Willenhall...

William LOUNDES (22, locksmith), son of John LOUNDES (locksmith), married Elizabeth RICHARDS (21), daughter of Enoch RICHARDS (locksmith), 28 Aug 1882, St Anne, Willenhall.

They're possibly listed on the same page as John and family on the 1891 census, with William aged 35 and Elizabeth aged 27 -  ???

William may be in Stafford Prison in 1881 and in Parkhurst in 1901...  :-\
