Marriage cert arrived for William Loundes and Ellen Elizabeth Darlow her father was indeed George same as Alberts yeyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. His father was John and I cant find him on census returns except 1911 3 years before his marriage and Ellen is his wife and they living with a William Harper one of their witnesses.

I cant find a William b 1887 in Dudley or Willenhall who is a locksmith and his father is John also a locksmith

William Loundes m Ellen Elizabeth Darlow in 1914 - on 1911 they are down as being married
Williams father on mc is John both are Locksmiths
Williams age is given as 27
They married in Dudley
The only possible Father is John b 1849 in Lichfield m to Harriet b 1850 in Willenhall as these were the only Locksmiths from Willenhall to come to Wolves and Dudley and settle
John is also the Father of Elizabeth Loundes who married Albert Darlow - Ellen Elizabeths brother
I have found a possible birth for William Loundes in 1888 Wolves so if push comes to shove I will risk sending for this
I have NOT found William Loundes b 1887/1888 in Willenhall on the 1891 or 1901 but have the 1901 for John and Harriet
the family has various spellings for the surname and endless Williams and Johns lol and they did switch their kids about amongst themselves and grandparents at times

Hiya Mel,

Great news, now we can confirm that my Ellen and your Albert were bro and sis!  What relation is Albert to you, Ellen being my great grandmother, I wondered how we were related.

I'm on the hunt now for William and father John.

As you pointed out, on the 1911 Ellen Elizabeth is shown as married to William Loundes - 3 years before their marriage.  The other couple living at the same address, Mary Jane & William Harper, weren't married either.  Mary Jane was a Darlow - Ellen Elizabeth's sister.  Both couples married 3rd Q 1914 Dudley and their marriage refs are 1 digit apart so they must have married at the same time.  Maybe they told the enumerator they were married to appear "decent"  ;D

I found out recently that my aunt was still in touch with the Harper family until a few years ago, but now the older members of the Harpers have passed away she has lost touch.  It was a bit frustrating as she told me they had traced their family tree and they could have been of help  ::)

John is also the Father of Elizabeth Loundes who married Albert Darlow - Ellen Elizabeths brother

Mel, are we saying that Elizabeth Loundes & William Loundes were brother and sister (children of John), and they married another brother and sister, Albert Darlow & Ellen Elizabeth Darlow? (children of George & Elizabeth Ann)?

If so this tree is going to get messy  ;D
