On Scotlands People (OPRs) I have found a Janet Skellie born 1758, a Mary Skellie born 1755 and a Katherin Skellie born 1760.  Unfortunately, only the father’s name is given (John Skelly) and not the mother’s name.  Is there anyone local who perhaps has information on this family please?  (- perhaps from older local records, monumental inscriptions, etc) as I am trying to track down the mother's name.

Taking the Skelly/Skellie family further down the tree, John Skelly's daughter Mary married Alexander Campbell in 1781.  Their daughter Elizabeth Campbell married John Barren (BYRON) and it is their son Robert BYRON (who married Marion BARR and settled in Ayrshire) from whom I am descended.   I have lots more on the branches, but little on the direct ancestry for John.
