It appears that the ship went to Melbourne (arrived 29 Jan 1874) and Sydney from Hong Kong, and I can't see any mention of it stopping in either WA or SA. There were 20 passengers onboard, 17 male and 3 female, and they were all Chinese.  The passenger list is on PROV

Thank you for your reply Debra.

I also found its arrival in Melb & departure for Sydney in Trove.

It's a mystery that the ship's arrival /departure can't be found any Australian ports before Melb.

Newspaper notices give Hong Kong departure details as "for Melbourne and Sydney", and arrival in Melbourne says "from Hong Kong".  I don't think it stopped at any other ports.

I agree with you Debra.

I have a copy of the original Melb passenger arrival list with gggf's name, nationality, age, departure port, arrival port & arrival year matching other info.  According to Trove article the barque arrived at Queenscliff. I'm not from Melbourne but can see from map that  Queenscliff is within Port Phillip Bay.

The ship must have arrived in Meb first as it arrived on 28 Jan then Sydney on 18 Feb 1874.

Thanks for your replies Debra.
