Thank you for your interest and help. Yes, Donald and Elizabeth are my gt, gt grandparents who migrated to NSW in 1838. John and his siblings Mary, Donald & Margaret were all born in Kilmonivaig (from Parish records on Scotland's People). All other children born NSW except Elizabeth who was born at Plymouth en route to Australia, when the ship put in for repairs.

Donald's brother Duncan was in Lochalsh in 1841 but I haven't looked at the others yet. I think sister Annie was at Glengarry.

Do you know if it's possible to buy the parish records of Lochalsh & Kintail on CD? That would be cheaper than downloading from Scotland's People.

I'll keep digging.

Cheers,

Ann
