The word is that as from the end of the month, Ancestry will be pulling the plug on GaleGroup's access because their security is so lax as regards controlling passwords.
To remind everyone, LDS centres are now supposed to have Ancestry access for free, although I have not been near my local recently to confirm this.
Also double-check what your local public library can offer. Some in the UK DO have access within the libraries themselves.
