Barry Family, Eire, Cork Ireland
« on: Sunday 12 June 11 05:03 BST (UK) »
Stephen John Barry born 26-12-1874. His Father was Michael Barry and his Mothers name Nora Barry (Maiden McCarthy) from Ahiole, Bandon. Micheal and Nora were married in the Gaggin Ch, Eire.

Stephen Barry left Ireland at a young age to settle in NewZealand. I do not have anything more than that. I do have one thing further to add, My Father told me that we were related to Kevin Barry.

A record of Stephen's birth seems to be included in the extracted records on familysearch :

  Name: Stephen John Barry
  Date: 26 Dec 1872
  Birthplace: Ireland
Parents :  Michael Barry & Hanna Mccarthy

there's also a good possible match on the BMD Index :

 Name: Stephen John Barry
 registration district: Bandon
 Event type: Birth
 Quarter and year: 1873
 Volume : 5 / Page :   13

you can use these details to order a cert which will give a little more detail - e.g. father's occupation and residence

If Michael & Hanna married in 1864, or after, then you may be able to locate a marriage for them on the BMD index. A cert for this would show details of their fathers..

two possible brothers to Stephen from the extracted civil birth collection on familysearch :

   Daniel Barry/ 29 Sep 1875 / Kilbrittain, Cork
Timothy Barry / 15 Feb 1880 / Chapel Street, Cork

parents : Michael Barry & Hanora Mc Carthy

The locations given are probably the registrars district rather than the actual address.

I would like a bit of help with my family tree. My great Great Grandfather was Daniel Barry, who was Stephen Barrys brother. Their father was Michael Barry and their mother was Hannora McCarthy. They also had a brother who died as an infant.

Daniel Barry's baptism
http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/details/547e7a0199268

Cork and Ross registrer is searchable on that site, Civil Records are also searchable there.

This site also has the Cork and Ross register + the rest of the country http://registers.nli.ie/ but is only searchable by parish.
