Obituary for Harold Victor Veness in the Toronto Star 20 July 1971 page 30. 

Retired circulation department Toronto Star... he died at the Toronto East General Hospital on Saturday July 17 1971.   Late of 9 Haldon Avenue.  Vic, husband of Nellie.  Father of Tom, Reg, Alf and Ray Holden.  Interment Highland Memory Gardens.
