Photos from Dunlichity Churchyard.  Stone lies flat in the ground, just beside the window on the South Side.

You're welcome.  The stone is white marble I think, and would probably clean up quite well with some water and a soft brush, however didnt have any water with me.   Found my 4x Gt Grandparents stone there too.  Some interesting marks on the wall of the enclosure too, apparently where swords/arrows were sharpened in days gone by :-) . Cute wee place.

Dear Sir/Ms.

My name is Gary in Australia & I am tracing my wife’s forebears including Janet McDonald. She m. James Anderson 30/11/1817 in Caithness but was b.c. 1800 at Stratherrick. Just wondering if you have any records that might identify her parents.

Regards,

Gary.

Hi Gary, Have you traced her Death via Scotlands people website?  If she died in Scotland after 1855 theres a good chance her parents names will be on the Death Cert.....  I take it the census is referring to Latheron in Caithness?

Maybe 'ghostwhisperer' who has commented on the thread earlier may be able to help, I know she has many records of Cemetery Inscritpions of various Inverness-shire places.  Stratherrick as a birthplace covers a few wee village type places, inc Errogie/Foyers I think, possibly part of Dores too...
http://southlochnessheritage.co.uk/ might be worth a look too.

Hi,  I just found this post and immediately registered on rootschat.  I can offer no help on the Stoddard quest, however, I recently learned that my great-grandmother Sarah Kennedy was the daughter of Archibald and Catherine (McDonald) Kennedy.  Any additional information that anyone can provide on the Kennedy and/or McDonald families would be most welcome.  As stated, I am new to this site so I will begin looking through the posts myself, but I'm quite sure that I can use a bit of help.  Thanks much.
