Please see your reply 8.  You say the divorce was 1931 but she remarried in 1918?  Think you are confusing the year she married Cowell.  The marriage to Ellison was 1950

The info I have from the England & Wales Civil Registration Marriage Index 1916-2005 says that my grandad William A Cowell married Duxbury. Jan, Feb, Mar 1918 Volume e Page 650. My mother told me that he was married to his first wife in WWI, they were living on Bolton Rd and he was working as a lorry driver.

Yes you are quite right it was 1950 so sorry about that it’s a while since I looked at that side of the family.
