The outgoing passenger list says that she was 85 c/o CPR London and a nurse.
She was from 'other parts of the UK'  ;D ie not England, and her future country of residence was Canada.

The ship was the Empress of Canada which left Liverpool on 4 August 1948  bound for Montreal.

Hi Carol, :)

Thankyou for answering my message.

I know Gertrude Forsythe was a professional Nurse on the 1911 Irish Census, living in Belfast, and just a day or two ago i found she's living in Mountain, Ontario, Canada.

So now she got a ship from Liverpool to Montreal, more chasing i think, maybe visiting relatives in England, who i don't know about.

Sorry to sound stupid what does c/o CPR London mean :-[

Regards
 Gary ;)

I don't have a clue Gary  ::) was just copying what it said!

The only CPR I thought of was the medical sort.....heart massage etc.

It must have been a well known place at the time though.Lots of people tend to be C/O their banks.

The Canadian Pacific Railroad or C.P.R. owned the "Empress" ships.  This link provides a bit of information.
