What seems a simple question COMPLETED
« on: Thursday 23 June 11 09:23 BST (UK) »
Richard Fitzwillian Hannam b 1822 at E Retford Nottinghamshire  Father Richard Hannam Mother Frances Mary Fitzwilliam.
I have traced Richard b 1822 through the census records to his death in Mar 1/4 1878, but I am unable to find him in the 1861 Census, he seems to have lived in the same area all his life.
There is an article in the London Gazette date 21 April 1857 which says that he was in court in Nottingham on 12th May 1857 for insolvency, is it possible that he may have served a term in jail? and if so how can I find this out? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks    Steve
Hannam in London, Nottinghamshire and Sheffield
Collins in Staffordshire
Brackenbury, Gurnell and Willson in Lincolnshire and now Nottinghamshire
Marples in Derbyshire and Yorkshire
Heginbotham in Derbyshire
