Her birth was in Ireland and will not help you with your main query which is the parents of her father Andrew

Have you checked Scotlands People OPR's for Andrews birth?

I'm puzzled as to how you found his birthplace was Peebles as neither the 1871/81/91 census entries show anything other than Scotland?

Margaret's father was Peter Heriot.

father George Swanston, mother Margaret Herriot.

George Heriot Swanston married Agnes Boon 1 Mar 1847 Edinburgh Parish, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland
Agnes' father was John Boon.

i`ve found another marriage in 1835 to George heriot swanston, and Margaret Burgess, they show up on the 1841 bmd free census, I'm sure that this is the right person as George was on engraver, as was my gr gr gr grandad, Andrew heriot swanston, they had 4 siblings

all`s well,
found andrew`s parents, just waiting for conformation from scotland. andrew from peebles was the wrong family.
