Would someone kindly look up the SPENCE family for me please ?

JAMES Spence born 1819  Gilling  Yorkshire / schoolmaster
John Spence   born  1848 Little Gransden

I am hoping to find a wife and mother with them....

I did have the 1861 info thank you, I am trying to find the name of his first wife, who I think is the mother of John age 13 .

James H Spence son 8 scholar b Islington Middx
Thomas Brown visitor 11 scholar b Islington Middx

James Spence was also the census enumerator for Lt Gransden.

Thank You Bedfordshire Boy....

Thats  my man !!! or rather my husbands ancestor...who my step daughter is researching.....I posted on her behalf....

we kew James Spence was the school master , but oviously , it is a great surprise to find he was a enumerator .

We are trying to find out who his first wife was , and I think this may be the answer . I think she will possibbly turn out to be a Brown , from Islington ......

And , I will never , ever , be disgusted with this site !!

Since I joined , just over a year ago , I have , with help from  so many lovely people , been able to trace my family back , at least on three sides , back to the 1790's......

I now have friends all over the world......thanks , to rootschat.com
